Multiculturalism and intercultural exchange can be fun, but it also can be frustrating and difficult. Let’s explore some of the concepts of this developmental look at how humans understand other cultures in a way that allows for us to love others wherever they are on their journey of understanding the other. Talking about race and people of other cultures can seem so fraught with pitfalls and misunderstandings and contention, it leaves some of us wary to cross that boundary at all.
A reflection on some of the themes that emerge at the Retreat, we will look at our history, and what it means to be Unitarian Universalist today and into the future. As we look at Crossing Boundaries, it’s wise to know where ours reside.
